SYMMETRY
ART, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INTERACTIONS
REFLECTIONS IN ARTWORKS
With my artworks I strive to draw attention
to the significance of symmetry in the broadest sense of the meaning.
Through them I wish to convey
the knowledge about order in Nature, about beauty and harmony, and at the same time
to contribute to this order in return...
As an observer and a creator I analyse the information, be they those that
are the result of my inner (mental, emotional or other) processes or those that are the result of being connected with the environment; on the basis
of this analysis I strive to create a new synthesis...
The products of this work (my paintings) contain both - explicit
and implicit information, and are further enriched by the viewers interpretation, intertwined with
his or her experiences...
Among other,
my artistic work is closely related to different kinds of symmetry, symmetry operations, Penrose tilings, quasicrystals, the golden mean as an element of symmetry, Fibonacci sequences etc.
I try to glean new relationships,
new levels of structure, new kinds of order in these elements and structures...
On the other hand, through some perceptually unstable compositions I wish to emphasize the principles
of the way human cognitive system works - not only our visual apparatus, our brain, our mind, but the entire process of perception
(as a whole) as well...
